Andrea Olatunji is an award-winning Uruguayan author, educator, and illustrator who believes in the power of storytelling to connect hearts and cultures. With over 20 years of experience in education, she brings her love of bilingualism and creativity to every page she creates.

Through her unique blend of collage art and storytelling, Andrea celebrates diversity, imagination, and the beauty of self-expression. Her acclaimed Nuestra Fauna series and her bilingual book It’s Your Birthday! / ¡Es tu cumpleaños! invite children to read, reflect, and create—transforming each story into a colorful journey of discovery and joy.

Andrea is the recipient of multiple international honors, including the International Latino Book Award and the International Book Award for Best Educational Book, as well as the KidsShelf Best Cover Award, recognizing both the educational value and artistic excellence of her work.

Her newest book, Candombe: Rhythm of Uruguay, offers a vibrant look at candombe, the most emblematic rhythm of her native country. This marks her first book published in Uruguay.
